the generic you

In the midst of a divine inspiration this morning, I decided that it would be really neat if generic people could talk to someone just as generic as them without having to annoy another generic person. So, I've created the generic you.

Basically, the generic you is born knowing a few very basic greetings, including a silent greeting. The generic you "learns" how to converse by remembering how people respond to it. It tallies how often people respond to certain phrases with certain other phrases, and uses these tallies to determine the likelihood that it will respond with each of those phrases.

After thousands and thousands of shaky conversations, I imagine talking to the generic you will be just like talking to any other generic person. I'm interested to see how it goes. Please give it a try:

If anyone is interested in the inner workings, please let me know and I'll make a detailed post.

Thanks!
